Pogo IT

This is the site for my freelance tech support business, Pogo IT. I started by creating the logo, and then
I carried the colors and curves throughout the rest of the site. I wanted a clean, simple appearance to reflect
my goals with the business. I used some images from
iStockphoto to
balance the text as well as some more modern design elements to accent the layout.

Label 11 Records

This site was created in collaboration with Richard Gonyeau of Label 11, another exciting chance
to work directly with a designer in creating a new site. We wanted to create something that would
look nice but remain incredibly simple to update, so we decided to go with an iframe design. The
outer frame lends a cohesive and professional appearance to the relatively plain inner pages. Thanks
to CSS and a creative menu system from
A List Apart,
we were able to keep the HTML extremely basic for easy updating.

Bush's 3rd Annual LAN Party

This page was put together for my friend's annual gaming party. Since the focus that year was mainly on war games,
I used that as my inspiration for the colors and design. I wanted to establish an identity for the party, so I also came up with
the logo design, which is a play off of E3 (the annual gaming expo.) The logo was used in banner ads that he put on friends' web
sites to draw more visibility to the event. It was a huge success and a lot of fun!

Lulu-Lay Designs

I created this site for Layla Cady, a designer based in Boston. As a designer, she already had a particular
style in mind, including the layout, colors, and font selections. She sent me detailed layouts for each page
drawn by hand, which I converted to web pages. This is a good example of how I can work with specific
requirements to create a site that matches your expectations.
Crazy Vincent!

This was the original design for my personal site after college. It used elements from my Clarkson site,
as well as some of the other sites I designed previously. It utilized a database backend and template frontend
which I used as an opportunity to learn PHP.

Basket Creations by S & S

This is a site I created for my aunts' gift basket business. It has a clean and unobtrusive appearance
that was designed to have a broad appeal. This site gave me the opportunity to try something a little different and
more elegant.
Dave Grover, LMT, OTR/L

This site is for my friend's massage therapy business. I chose more vibrant, earthy colors
that were inspired in part by his office. I think they suit his energetic disposition and professional nature.

Stator COE

I created this site when I was working in the Stator Center of Excellence at GE Power Systems. The design
is fairly plain, but not boring. It was designed for speed and ease of use - all the pages are within one click
of each other. I adapted portions of this design into my personal site.
Stator Safety

This site was designed to centralize all of the safety information for the Stator area at GE. I wanted
the design to be unique, so I decided on a distressed paint appearance using colors from the manufacturing shop.
It was designed to be easily recognizable, with a sort of "brand identity" that we carried beyond the
screen and onto bulletin boards in the shop to help promote the site. I like this design but felt it wasn't
appropriate for the topic, so this site was eventually redesigned when the Stator COE site was created.
Vincent!

This was my personal web site that I designed in college. It ended up as more of a research project in web development, and
I was pleased with the design at the time, and I carried many of the concepts and design choices into my subsequent designs.

vterm

This was my original concept for my site redesign. I really like the techno punk look (and this was
before
The Matrix was even released!) Unfortunately, I found it to be too dark on some screens,
and it has some design and compatibility issues that made me scrap the design for something better.
It was a great learning experience and it got me really interested in web design.
