Stuck at work again, huh? Do you ever think you'd be better off dead? Well, now is your chance to live the dream! Except you wouldn't really be living per se. Anyway, enough chatter, you only have 5 Minutes to Kill (Yourself) so you'd better hurry. It's the only game that you win when you die! So don your casual Friday garb and get to work! Who knew that offices held so many overt dangers?
A word of warning for the game: as in real life, beware of bathroom clowns. Creepy.
Simple, creative, and emasculatory. They should do this for everyone!
Hey, sorry about the lack of posts lately, there hasn't really been much going on and I've been working steadily on the new design. Anyway, I just got an email about another free City of Heroes weekend. It appears that there is a massive Rikti invasion all over Paragon City, so I think we should do our part to quell the alien masses. It sounds like there is some new content for levels 35 and up, which is perfect, because most of us are right in that range. I'm pretty sure I'll have some free time this weekend, although I think The General has prior engagements. I've also heard that the good Dr. H. McHealer is itching to get to level 30 and earn some new duds. Let me know if you want to team up and clean up the city!
No, it's not the classic first-person shooter that we all know and love. Doomed is a top-down shooter, so you can see how it's totally different. The description says it's like Smash TV meets Gauntlet, and I'd have to agree. It also says the levels are randomly generated, which is cool, although one of the levels I saw was so devilishly constructed I would never have guessed it was computer generated. Each room I entered would lock the doors behind me inside a room filled with baddies, and eventually I met my end. Luckily, you can upgrade your gear between levels (that seems to be a popular feature lately!) which should help tilt the odds in your favor. Lock and load!
It's been a while since I posted a good puzzle game. Psychopath looks really simple at first, but a few levels in I realized it's more difficult than it seems. The object is simple: get to the exit in the fewest moves possible. I'll let the game explain the rest.
Videlectrix released a new game earlier this week called Where's an Egg? The object is to find and kill the egg thief (I guess,) it's hard to know for sure since the entire game is in some crazy language. Their home page explains that they are trying to win the bid on an instruction page to help explain how to play. Anyway, after exacting my revenge on an egg thief, I realized that I have never posted their site! Well, that's not true, I posted a link about three years ago but I think that was before they had any games up on the site. But they have since fixed that, now they have some "fantastic" games for you to spend fun time playing.
Suavé sent these over, they're pretty funny so I figured I'd share them with you.

Have you ever seen one of those movies with a giant underground sandworm? You know, the kind that pops out randomly to eat people, and seems nearly impossible to kill? Well, now is your chance to see what it's like from the worm's perspective in Death Worm. Chow down on surface dwellers to grow bigger, but watch out: they don't take kindly to being eaten. Pretty soon they will call in the military to fight back, and eventually some more advanced firepower will also join the attack. You can also knock boulders around to bash down aircraft and destroy mines. Plus, it has some pretty catchy music. Enjoy!
We were talking about this at coffee night this week so I figured I'd post it here. We saw the awesome Transformers movie last week, but there was one notable character from the show that didn't make it into the film. Here's his story.
Oops, the holiday this week screwed me up, I almost forgot what day it was! I saw Dolphin Olympics posted on Joystiq the other day, so I figured I'd post it here. Try it out, then take a look at the instructions link below the game to pick up a few extra pointers. I played for a little while thinking I was doing pretty well, but when I compared my scores to the top scores, I realized I had a loooong way to go. How well can you do?
Wow, it's been an entire month since I last posted a zombie game? Well, I've got just the thing to end that dry streak: check out Zombie Survival. Like many other zombie games, you earn points to upgrade your gear, and the zombies get stronger and more numerous as the game progresses. This game seems to take a massive leap in difficulty after the first boss battle though, as I've played this game a dozen times and I still can't get past that level! Can you?
Man mauled by bear!
Bear kills one, injures two more!
Bear attack!
Not even chickens are safe!
Experts: bear attacks up 37% over last year!
Exclamation point!
What would happen if a world-renowned classical musician played a solo concert in the middle of a pedestrian plaza during the morning rush hour? Would anyone stop to listen? Would you?
Alright, time for some more platform action! Don't worry about stomping baddies, all you need to do is save Little Loki from an eternity of scorching, agonizing pain. Also, he's really bored; apparently they don't get cable in Hades. Hurry up, the lava is rising and Satan's minions are after you! It's time to dodge your way out of Hell! (See what I did there? I switched the... eh, never mind.)
Today I saw this article on Yahoo with the best headline ever: FBI to Battle Zombie Horde. I envy the reporter that was able to add that masterpiece to his portfolio. Unfortunately, the article is quite a bit more mundane than the title implies: the zombies they are referring to are just malware-infected computers.
I first heard the term a couple years ago and made the picture at the left, but for some reason I never posted it. Well, this article reminded me so I figured now is a good time to add it to the site. The Zombie PC comes in flannel and Tycho varieties. Click the image to view them both.
Oh man, I'm watching the Robot Chicken Star Wars special right now... those guys are awesome! Bring me a taco!
About a month ago, I posted a link to Bloons. I found it strangely addicting and actually managed to finish all 50 levels. Well thankfully, there are More Bloons to pop! This game has a new balloon type and some even more devious level designs. Toss those darts, monkey!
Silly kid. Everyone knows he was really a zombie.
I finally finished the site redesign for Pogo IT a couple weeks ago, but I forgot to post a link here for you to check it out. I was up in Wilmington last week visiting Steve and doing a bit of consulting for their office; with any luck, I'll get to do some work for them. It's such a nice drive I don't mind the distance, although I think it may have caused my allergies to relapse. I would love to have his daily drive to work though: gorgeous trees and mountains and an awesome stream by the road, and on the way home you can see this great waterfall, and light traffic to boot! I really should get a good camera so I can take pictures of some of this stuff. Anyway, I'm ready to start taking on more clients, so if you know any small businesses that need tech support, point them to my site.
Also, I'm once again collaborating with Rich to create a web site for someone he works with. I'll post more details when we get it done. Working on my Pogo IT site has got me excited about web design again, I think it's a nice departure from my standard designs. Even though I didn't use any new coding techniques on that site, I've been working on learning some modern design principles. I think that the majority of people are finally using modern browsers so a fully CSS layout would be acceptable.
I've been considering a redesign for this site, although I'm still tossing around ideas. I think I need to simplify the navigation, remove some of the lesser used pages, and I really need to clean up the back-end. I've had the database driving my site for long enough that I know what I need to change. I'd like to finally add an edit feature, plus make it more mobile-friendly.
Are there any other features in particular that you think I should incorporate in a new design? Post in the comments if you have any ideas.
