I've spent the past couple days putting together an RSS feed for the site at Bush's request. You should be able to access the feed from any page by clicking the orange icon in your address bar (as pictured here) or you can access it directly if you prefer. This is my first time dealing with RSS aside from a brief stint with Sage a couple years ago, so I don't really know what it will likely be used for. Right now it contains the full contents of the last ten posts, minus comments. I'm considering the possibility of generating a couple other feeds, like just headlines, latest comments, or lightweight posts (first fifty words or so, no media.) Hit up the comments and let me know what you think.News
RSS feed now available

I don't see how this is useful....explain.Also, I beat Bioshock. Tell me what you had planned to tell me back on crazyjester.com (seeing as Paul has neglected his site to the point of...it doesn't exist right now). The game was fantastic, the ending was OK. Seeing as bioshock 2 and 3 are in the pipe, I can't wait to see where they go with it. Plenty left to discuss if they choose to revisit it. (Andrew Ryan's death for example...what was that all about? Does he come back in one of those tubes??)

The key to RSS is in the last S, which stands for syndication. It's a way to provide just the content of a web site in a standard format that other sites or programs can use. One example is on Crazy Jester, he has a box that displays news updates from [H]ard|OCP. That site, in turn, has a box which displays news updates from Shacknews, which displays headlines from a bunch of other sites. The real benefit comes in when you use a feed aggregator (or feed reader.) If you tend to read a lot of the same sites each day looking for news updates, aggregators can help. They can read feeds from multiple sites and display them in a list, showing you which sites have been updated. Also, many sites will provide a short description (or in my case, a full post) which you can read right from the aggregator. That way, you can browse through news posts much quicker, and then click back through to the site if a particular post interests you or you want to comment.Aggregators come in all shapes and sizes. Some are standalone applications. Some, like Google Reader are more like web portals. Personally, I find the Firefox plugins to be the most useful. If this sounds useful, keep your eyes open on the sites you read. Many of them will have the orange icon indicating that a feed is available.Re: Bioshock, let me put together a proper post sometime this week. I'll need a few days to articulate my thoughts.
