Wow. Over ten and a half years. That's how long it's been since Duke Nukem Forever was announced, way back in April of 1997. It began development with the Quake 2 engine. In 1998 they released some screenshots and a video, then scrapped the engine in favor of the Unreal engine. They restarted development and in 2001 they released some screenshots and a video, then switched to the Unreal Tournament engine. After that, they pretty much went silent. What have they been doing all that time? Playing cowboys or something, who knows.Meanwhile, the rest of the world has been fairly productive. Check out this list of all the stuff that has happened in those ten-plus years. Just look at all the games that have been released: The entire Halo series. A dozen GTA games. Fifteen Final Fantasy games. Twenty-two Sims games and expansions. Fifty Star Wars games! It's absurd!Earlier this year, they released a tiny screenshot of Duke attached to a job posting. A few months later, they released another, then a couple more appeared in a magazine. Four tiny screenshots in six years. Until today.3DRealms has finally released a new teaser trailer (HD available here) proving that the game is still in development. After ten and a half years, we get screenshots and a video. Let's hope they follow through this time.

Vincent, you've been waiting ten years for the next installment of Max Headrom. Apparently 3D Realms has also found a new toilet to crap in.
