Friday Fun - Spore Creature Creator
Posted 7/04/2008 9:00 am by Crazy Vincent
I'm on vacation today, I don't feel like finding a web game. Instead, I'm going to link you to the Spore Creature Creator to play with. It's not really a game, it's more like part toy, part tech demo. But it is really fun to create some crazy-ass creatures. Actually, I suppose you could create some crazy ass-creatures.

I've spent the past couple days putting together an RSS feed for the site at Bush's request. You should be able to access the feed from any page by clicking the orange icon in your address bar (as pictured here) or you can access it directly if you prefer. This is my first time dealing with RSS aside from a brief stint with Sage a couple years ago, so I don't really know what it will likely be used for. Right now it contains the full contents of the last ten posts, minus comments. I'm considering the possibility of generating a couple other feeds, like just headlines, latest comments, or lightweight posts (first fifty words or so, no media.) Hit up the comments and let me know what you think.
Friday Fun - The Indigo Dungeon

Sorry, this week's game doesn't have anything to with The Indigo Girls, no lesbians for you. Instead, we're continuing Hector's adventures in Phantom Mansion: Spectrum of Souls - Chapter 6: The Indigo Dungeon. This week you are joined by a jester (not that Jester!) who beats you up and steals your lunch money, er, your keys. I don't know what he does with all those keys, maybe he would rather be a janitor.
Friday Fun - Yin Yang

A couple weeks ago I posted a game called Shift. This week's game, Yin Yang is kind of similar, but this game has you playing as two different characters which must help each other reach the goal. The concept is very cool (it's either inspired by or stolen from Negative Space, depending who you ask.) Unfortunately, sloppy controls and collision detection make it less enjoyable than it could be, but it's fun and unique enough to be a fun diversion despite these issues.
Friday Fun - Viva Caligula

You know, sometimes I just want some senseless violence, and Viva Caligula fits the bill nicely. I think there is a plot somewhere, but the part that interests me most is the fact that the game has 26 different weapons; one for each letter on your keyboard. I had collected a bunch at one point, but it looks like my saved game has been erased so I never found out what happens at the end. I guess that just means I have to go kill more people. It's stabby time!
